恩英是个韩国料理师，她与中国击剑选手张林因误会生爱，俩人约定了后续前缘的时间，不料天有不测风云，在约定的时间内张林因突遭意外失约，恩英在这期间生下了两人的爱情结晶湖水。恩英的好友秀泰意外过世，丢下儿子湖真，恩英为生计所迫，开了一家面馆，同时养育着湖水与湖真。不久，积劳成疾的恩英患上癌症，自知不久于人世的恩英托润美带上湖水去中国寻找他的生身父亲张林，而内心龌龊的润美在陷害与其同居多年的男友金宝后，采用狸猫换太子的卑鄙伎俩，带着湖真前往中国，不明就里的张林与她结了婚。在韩国保育院长大的湖水秉承了妈妈做面的手艺，他越洋来中国寻找从未谋面的父亲......。The film opens with a narrated disclaimer over footage of an opening coffin.
