德川将军家齐第17子——御三清水家的齐道（岡田将生 饰）自幼为恶梦所困扰，以致失心发狂，病状愈演愈烈。其癫狂行为令将军家倍感无颜，因此急欲除之而后快。忠心耿耿的家臣角之进（柄本明 饰）小心应付，安排齐道前往下级武士助次郎（小出惠介 饰）的家乡濑田村调养。在行进的途中，齐道豢养的猎鹰飞进了传说中有天狗出没的濑田山。齐道不顾助次郎的劝阻，策马扬鞭追入山中。在一片宁静美丽的所在，他邂逅美丽的女孩阿雷（苍井优 饰）。一番打斗过后，却让他们各自的心中有了奇妙的感觉。一段美好而又注定无果的因缘就此展开…… 本片根据宇江佐真理的原著改编。。Dick Turpin is terrorising the countryside around Upper Dencher.
